Thai Yoga Massage is based on the spirit of loving kindness.
Whenever I share this ancient Asian healing practice with others,
it is this intention and quality of connection that fuels me.
I also love how the rhythmic nature of the approach leads me
into a meditative zone - full focus on goodness with every breath.
While my work as an intimacy coach and group facilitator also
enables me to connect with others in a very meaningful way,
I highly value how Thai Yoga Massage brings
connection beyond words.
Testimonials
From play to profession
In terms of my relationship with Thai Yoga Massage, it was love at first sight.
Or rather: love at first touch.
I discovered the practice back in 2007 when I started practicing acrobatic yoga.
Acrobatic yoga (or acroyoga in short) is a playful, collaborative practice
that includes a therapeutic branch called “Therapeutic Flying” and
generally ends with a Thai massage treatment for the legs of the "base".
I was introduced this gratitude practice as “leg love” and from that moment
onwards I took every opportunity to soak up and share the Thai massage "love”.
Roughly 5 years and hundreds of "flights" and massages later, I was hungry for more.
The Practitioners Course with Kira Balaskas was the start of my professional massage chapter. Her School of Thai Yoga Massage in London is one of the first schools of its kind in Europe.
It has over 30 years of experience and has an excellent reputation in the UK and internationally.
Acknowledgements
I am very grateful to Kira as I owe the quality of my therapeutic touch to her excellent training.
I’d also like to thank the hundreds of kindhearted acrobats from around the world
who generously shared their skills, as well as all those curious newbies who trusted me
to give them their first ever flight and/or practice my massage skills on them.
Without those many hundreds of hours of playtime and practice, YîM Yoga Massage would not exist.
Intimacy Coaching
Next to sharing the loving kindness of Thai Yoga Massage,
I also work as a coach and group facilitator.
I specialize in guiding women, people with vulvas and couples
in their discovery journeys, particularly in the areas of self-love,
body appreciation, confidence, sex, relationships and dating.
In 2020 I co-founded Unime, a feminist non-profit co-operative
that provides workshops and courses online and in-person.
